Sustainability

At The Coffee Collective we are not perfect but are pushing on all fronts to be more sustainable with focus on the following items. If you have a suggestion on how we can improve our sustainability, please let us know!

Coffee. It's something that most people rely on first thing in the morning to get them ready for the day, it's the drink that old friends catch up over, and the perfect accompaniment to a piece of cake. Therefore, it's no surprise that coffee is in high demand and as a provider of coffee we take our responsibilities towards our impact seriously.

Use recyclable cups

Takeaway coffee is a crucial part of our business; however, it is important that you know we have eco-friendly options. You may be surprised to find that standard white paper cups are lined with a polythene coating and are therefore unable to be completely recycled. Instead of selling takeaway coffee in standard paper cups, we have opted for 100% recyclable cups. Alternatively, there is a 10% discount for customers who bring their own takeaway cups.

Source locally

Sourcing locally is not only a great way to support the local economy, but it is also the eco-friendly option. We buy all our milk from local farms and coffee from local roasters. This greatly helps to reduce our carbon footprint, ensuring that we are doing our bit for the planet.

Free water

Coffee is known to be dehydrating; after a cup of coffee, many people need a glass of water, and lots of people will buy it in a plastic bottle. We have chosen not to sell water in plastic bottles, and instead offer free water that you can help yourself to. This helps us all to reduce our plastic consumption.

Eco friendly waste management

We have selected eco-friendly waste management company to dispose of our waste. Making sure this company recycles their waste and disposes of rubbish using environmentally friendly processes.
